New features
EcoPrint: saving supplies
EcoPrint offers advanced optimization in saving supplies in printing environments, allowing flexible supply-saving settings adapted to the specific needs of each customer.
Using a print fading process, EcoPrint reduces the amount of supply applied to each page by up to 60% without compromising visual quality. Settings are easily adjustable via the NDD Orbix portal and synchronized with the DCA and Cloud Connector agent, which is responsible for applying the defined savings to print jobs.
To use EcoPrint, you can create a default rule per customer or custom rules per printer, manufacturer/model or print queue, allowing flexible management of supplies consumption. In addition, you can define exclusion rules as an exception, so that savings are not applied to specific members covered by standard or customized rules.
After creating the rules, to get more details on the savings applied to prints, use the new Comparative or Saving reports. The reports provide:
number of prints on which savings have been applied compared to the number of meters in the printer
number of printed pages and the savings factor applied to them
To find out more about this functionality, go to EcoPrint: saving supplies.
For detailed information on how to use it, go to Managing supply savings with EcoPrint.
To generate the reports, go to Generate predefined reports.
The DCA and Cloud Connector agent must be updated to version 1.1.2, as instructed at Update the agent or gateway on portal.
Improvements
New prerequisite: Microsoft ASP.NET Core Runtime version 8.0.6 or higher - Agent: DCA and Cloud Connector
For greater control over the version of the Runtime used and to eliminate duplicate files, a dependency on the Microsoft ASP.NET Core Runtime application (version 8.0.6 or higher) has been added to the execution of the DCA and Cloud Connector agent.
Before installing the agent, the installer will check whether the Microsoft ASP.NET Core Runtime application is already present on the computer. If it isn't, the installer will automatically install this application, which provides the necessary components for the agent to work.
Do not uninstall the Microsoft ASP.NET Core Runtime application from the computer. Removing this application will cause the DCA and Cloud Connector agent and its services to malfunction.
The DCA and Cloud Connector agent must be updated to version 1.1.2, as instructed at Update the agent or gateway on portal.
Setting up the SNMP protocol for print queues and EcoPrint
The Settings > Print queues menu, which previously centralized the SNMP protocol settings for print queues, has been renamed Settings > SNMP protocol. This change reflects the expansion of functionality, now allowing the configuration of SNMP protocols for both print queues and EcoPrint, facilitating the parameterization process.
The existing SNMP protocol settings will be preserved, and the new settings created will also be used to obtain data from the printers for both functionalities.
In addition, a new permission called Administration of SNMP settings has been created to manage these settings in the Settings > SNMP protocol menu. Be sure to review the permissions of users and permission groups to ensure access to the menu.
Capture of the FUJIFILM manufacturer - Service: NDD - Printer Monitor
The internal rules have been adjusted to correctly capture and display the FUJIFILM manufacturer on the devices.
The DCA and Cloud Connector agent must be updated to version 1.1.2 and the NDD - Printer Monitor service to version 1.1.2, respectively, as instructed at Update the agent or gateway on portal. The manual update via the installer will update both simultaneously.

Fixes
Inconsistency in the date filter for the Last meter column
When grouping items by the Last meter column in the grid in the Monitoring > Printers menu and then applying a date filter to that same column, the filter was not applied correctly.
For example, when using the Last meter greater than 20/08/2024 00:00 filter, items from 19/08/2024 were also displayed.
To correct this problem, we updated the components responsible for grouping columns. Now, the date filter will be applied based on the user's browser time, instead of the UTC time recorded in the database.
Inconsistency in displaying print queues by unit
If the user was in a unit of a particular customer, the print queues of other customers were still displayed.
To correct this problem, we updated the related component. Now, the print queues are displayed correctly according to the units to which the user belongs.

New features
Creation of users groupings
Now, in addition to creating computers groupings, it is also possible to create users groupings.
Groupings are intended to group members together to facilitate the mass installation of print queues on computers. When you create a grouping and associate it with a print queue, that queue will be installed on all members belonging to the grouping.
For more information on how to create and configure users' groupings, go to Create print queue grouping.
Deactivation of meters and supplies monitoring in bulk
The new feature allows you to deactivate meters and supplies monitoring for network or USB printers in bulk, covering all customers or specific customers. When deactivated, only the printer's registration data will be collected by the agent and sent to the portal.
This feature streamlines the provider's operation, as previously deactivating meters and supplies monitoring was done individually, service by service. Now, the user can deactivate monitoring for all current and future services of the desired customers.
To register a deactivation rule in bulk, go to Settings > Monitoring, find the Inventory monitoring option and configure the rule as desired. As soon as the rule is created, all current and future services of the selected customers will stop collecting and monitoring meters and supplies data.
If meters and supplies monitoring is activated on a specific service after the deactivation bulk rule has been created, that service's configuration will take precedence over the deactivation rule.
When you delete a deactivation rule, meters and supplies monitoring will automatically be activated on the respective customers' services.
For more details on the new functionality, go to Deactivate meters and supplies monitoring for printers.
New report for computers
The predefined Allocated computers statement report provides a detailed overview of allocated managed computers, categorized by customer, site and department, supporting the provider in the monthly closing. This report includes data such as computer name, computer type, user, serial number, model, manufacturer and last read date.
The filters available to refine the search for data in the report are:
Customer (optional)
Site (optional)
Managed computers only (required)
Period (required)
For more information on how to generate the report, go to Generate predefined reports.
Implement understanding of error codes in logs - Service: NDD - Computer Monitor
Standardizing the error codes in the logs makes them easier to understand and allows users to find solutions more efficiently.
The service logs can be checked via the Installations > Modules or Installations > Services menus. If the log contains an error, identify the error code and consult the documentation (Troubleshooting) to find a solution to the problem identified.
The DCA and Cloud Connector agent must be updated to version 1.1.1 and the NDD - Computer Monitor service to version 1.3.1, respectively, as instructed at Update the agent or gateway on portal. The manual update via the installer will update both simultaneously.
Improvements
Additional fields in custom reports for meters and supplies
The aim is to make it possible to view additional fields when extracting custom reports for meters and supplies.
To do this, an implementation has been carried out so that the additional fields can be added as columns in these reports.
Grouping administration migrated to the print queues menu
To simplify the management of print queues, grouping administration (creation, editing and deletion) is now carried out in the Print queues menu.
In addition, the In use column has been added to the grid, making it easier to identify groupings that are associated with one or more print queues.
Changes to the naming of columns in the module and service grids
To improve visual consistency and user comprehension, we have made adjustments to the naming of the following columns:
Name → Module (Installations > Modules menu grid)
Name → Service (Installations > Services menu grid)
Fixes
Improper disk changes on computers
Disks were improperly added to and removed from the change history several times, even without actual changes. This happened when two or more computers had disks with the same serial number. During reads, the disk was removed from one computer and added to another repeatedly.
To correct this problem, the identification and change of disks will now be carried out using the PNP Device ID. This unique identifier is assigned to each device, ensuring the correct identification and management of disks.
With the fix, all records of disks, volumes and change histories will be removed from the computers to eliminate improper changes. New records will be generated based on the new data used, as long as the DCA and Cloud Connector agent is updated to version 1.1.1 or the NDD - Computer Monitor service is updated to version 1.3.1.
The DCA and Cloud Connector agent must be updated to version 1.1.1 and the NDD - Computer Monitor service to version 1.3.1, respectively, as instructed at Update the agent or gateway on portal. The manual update via the installer will update both simultaneously.
