Queue settings are not applied when printing

Failure

Settings defined in the print queue created in the NDD Orbix portal, such as paper size, print type (monochrome or color), or print mode (simplex or duplex), are not reflected in the printout.

Cause

The queue is using a printer driver that is incompatible with one or more of the specified settings.

In this case, the queuing service automatically ignores the incompatible settings to ensure that the queue continues to operate normally without failure.

Solution

To confirm that the settings are not being applied due to driver incompatibility, verify that print queue service logging is active and set to the Trace level, as instructed in Configure and view service logs.

After sending a print job, access the generated logs and look for messages indicating incompatibility between the settings and the driver.

If the logs confirm the incompatibility, edit the print queue and link a compatible driver with the desired settings.
