New features

Integration API for print queue members

To make it easier to connect other solutions to NDD Orbix and offer an automated approach to managing users, computers and groupings of print queues, we have launched a new integration API.

For more details on the endpoints, methods, parameters, request examples and responses returned, access the full documentation at Print queue API.

New features

Monitoring new supplies

NDD Orbix now expands its monitoring intelligence to include new supplies that are essential to the operation of printers. With this functionality, print outsourcing providers can count on even more complete and proactive management, optimizing costs and ensuring the continuity of operations.

The new supplies monitored are:

  • Fuser: a component in laser printers that applies heat and pressure to permanently fix the toner to the paper.

  • Maintenance Kit: a set of parts and supplies designed to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the printer.

  • Developer: a substance made up of magnetic particles, used in laser printers to load and transfer toner to the photoconductor cylinder.

  • Belt: thin, flexible belt responsible for transferring toner from the printing units to the paper in color printers.

The main benefits of monitoring new supplies include:

  • Visibility of production and parts status: provides detailed information on parts, facilitating accurate monitoring and ensuring continuity of operation.

  • Reduced operating costs: minimizes unexpected downtime, optimizes equipment availability and improves the planning of technical visits. With visibility of parts, visits can be made more productively, consolidating all needs into a single trip. This allows you to serve several customers in the same region or city, avoiding additional trips and reducing travel costs.

  • Better negotiations with suppliers: allows for planned purchases under more advantageous conditions, such as reduced prices and greater supply predictability.

  • Operational continuity: avoids service interruptions due to the unavailability of critical parts, keeping equipment fully operational.

The monitoring of these new supplies follows the same pattern already established for other items, integrating with the processes of:

  • Indicators generation

  • Supplies replenishment

  • Predictive intelligence

  • Premature exchanges management

For more information on how to manage supplies, go to Managing supplies.

Advanced filter in the premature exchanges grid

We've added an advanced search filter to the grid in the Supplies > Premature exchanges menu.

With it, you can compose customized filters to locate supplies and specific situations more precisely.

Improvements

Search by printer serial number in the supplies grid

To make it easier to locate demands related to specific printers, we've added a search by printer serial number to the following grids in the Supplies menu:

  • Supplies in use

  • Supplies running low

  • Demand planning

  • Completed demands

  • Premature exchanges

Fixes

Adjustment to the capture of the Xerox manufacturer name on some models (Service: NDD - Printer Monitor)

Some Xerox models reported the manufacturer's name as Xerox(r) during data capture.

We have changed this so that the name captured as Xerox(r) is converted to Xerox, ensuring consistency and clarity in the display of information.

The DCA and Cloud Connector (Windows) agent must be updated to version 1.1.16 and the NDD - Printer Monitor (Windows) service to version 1.1.12, respectively, as instructed at Update the agent or gateway on portal.

New features

DCA and Cloud Connector agent compatibility with Raspberry Pi

The DCA and Cloud Connector agent is now compatible with Raspberry Pi devices that meet the following minimum prerequisites:

  • Device model: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B or higher.

  • Operating system: Ubuntu 24.04 or higher (64-bit).

  • Storage: 8gb microSD card or higher.

  • Connection: local network that allows communication with the NDD Orbix server services.

This compatibility allows the monitoring of meters, supplies and events of network printers using Raspberry Pi devices, making it an efficient and affordable solution to meet different infrastructure needs.

See the installation instructions in Install the agent on Linux (Ubuntu and derivatives).

Compatibility is available from version 1.1.15 of the DCA and Cloud Connector (Linux) agent and from version 1.1.11 of the NDD - Printer Monitor (Linux) service.
