Why is the initial reading date in the meter report different from the period entered?
The meter yield in the report is calculated by subtracting the final meter from the initial meter. To ensure the accuracy of this calculation, the system searches for the initial meter in the last available record up to 30 days before the start date of the requested period.
For this reason, the initial reading date shown in the report may be earlier than the period entered. However, the yield value will always correctly reflect the requested period.
Example 1: when there is yield between readings
At the last reading on 31/10/2024, the meter recorded 1,200 pages.
At the first reading on 01/11/2024, the meter recorded 1,400 pages, indicating a yield of 200 pages between readings.
If the report is requested for the period from 01/11/2024 to 30/11/2024, the initial reading date will be displayed as 31/10/2024, as this was the last record available before the start of the period. This ensures that the 200 printed pages are correctly accounted for in the calculation.
Example 2: when there is no yield between readings
At the last reading on 31/10/2024, the meter recorded 1,200 pages.
At the first reading on 01/11/2024, the meter also recorded 1,200 pages, indicating that no pages were produced between the readings.
If the report is requested for the period from 01/11/2024 to 30/11/2024, the initial reading date will be displayed as 01/11/2024, because the initial meter for 01/11/2024 is the same as the final meter for 31/10/2024.
